These were student works done while studying at the New York Studio School.

The figure paintings are simply color studies using a very narrow range of hues.

The 59th Street Bridge series arose from the memory of a recurring, childhood nightmare of collapsing bridges. The dreams resolved with me falling from the bridge and swimming to shore. I drew the 59th Street Bridge and the East River for about a year and a half and then used these studies to paint the large diptych in my studio.

The five panel Bridge Altarpiece is a figure painting and continues the theme of the bridge. It is a response to the Garden of Eden story.
